Eastdale Shopping mall was the main enclosed shopping shopping mall in Montgomery and the 2nd biggest in Alabama when it opened in 1977. It had four anchor stores: Montgomery Ward (afterwards Sears), Pizitz (afterwards Parisian), Gayfers (afterwards Dillard’s), and JCPenney. Eastdale Mall is home to Alabama’s only ice skating rink inside a shop
